It's hard to imagine. But there was a Brooklyn long before bespoke cocktails and beards e'rrywhere. And the website BrooklynPix has proof. The website divides the borough up by 'hood and has photos from 1890 through 1965. Y'all know I love stuff like this. And I immediately got lost looking for images of my neighborhood, hoping to catch a glimpse of our 1931 building. No such luck, but these three were taken incredibly close. The top one is but a mere block away. The little shop on the right hand corner is now home to the bar where I had my birthday party. Obviously everything's different but the bones are there. And this is why I hate new construction.
