It's me. I realize I've been rather M.I.A. as of late. (I'm downplaying things I've been straight up MISSING for over a month). I've been working a lot. In fact, I think this is the busiest I've ever been. I've been working on something pretty big in my silly little world of advertising. I've found that when things get really busy with work, the blog is the first thing to go. Followed closely by cleaning and the gym.
But that's not all, y'all.
I am buying an apartment. Say what?! Yes. Let me repeat that. Me. Apartment. Purchasing.
It's all expected to happen right around my ten year anniversary of moving to New York. Isn't it cool how life sometimes works out that way? It took my ten years to be able to do it but I'm happy to report that in a month of so, I'll be a home owner. It's a darling little place. My boyfriend saw it before I did because I was out of town but he highly recommended I go back and see it because he knew I'd love it. So we went back. And he was right. It's a two bedroom apartment on the third floor of a coop in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Funny, it's only about three blocks away from my current place. I'm pretty sure this is the best neighborhood in the world so why leave? It's got a great layout, gets great light (i'm already thinking about house plants). It has a downright luxurious shared courtyard with tables and grills and garden plots. And...get ready... it has a washer dryer. In the apartment! Matt and I have been joking that for the first couple of weeks I'll be doing loads of laundry just because I can. A single sock here. A random t-shirt there. Really, I cannot tell you how excited I am about this washer dryer. I feel like I've finally made it.
This is my first time buying a home and it is stressful. I've always been averse to paperwork, financial things and other responsible adult activities. My eyes glaze over and I shut down. But I'm getting better! I've been doing a pretty okay job with all this home buying mumbo jumbo. And luckily, I have a fantastic partner in crime who happens to be excellent at all of those things. Isn't it nice how that worked out?
We hope to close in late July or early August. I can't wait to show you pictures.
Now. What have you been up to?
