It was New Years Day, I was exhausted from staying up until 3AM drinking whiskey with man and then hosting a New Years Day brunch where I drank just enough bloody marys to make me sleepy AND ate my weight in pork/collards/black eyed peas and whiskey cake. Yes, we like whiskey around here. Aaaaanyways, I was lying on the couch feeling lazy and bored and I started thinking about starting a year long instagram project, a daily theme that you stick to for an entire year. Last year my pal Nik did a really cool #365insideoutside project where she documented a split screen of something inside and outside every day. My friend Jaime did #ashapeaday where she drew a different shape each day. I was searching my brain for something interesting and different that I could do and possibly keep fresh for 365 days. That's when the idea of documenting an "a" each day popped into my brain. I texted a few trusted sources on the appropriate hashtag for such an undertaking and thus #thedailya was born. I'm 48 in with 317 a's left to go, be sure to follow me on instagram so you don't miss any of the A-related magic.
p.s. On this subject, my girl Kelly is doing a quote a day and it is truly fabulous.
