Costa Rica: Where I Stayed

Lodging was included in the price of my trip. And we stayed at a lovely little hotel on the beach in Malpais called Tropico Latino. It was more of a resort with little bungalows spread out all over the grounds. Everything was connected by pebble covered paths and there was lush greenery everywhere you looked. I stayed in a private room with a bathroom that I shared with the other single trip member, Erin. Our rooms looked out onto a giant porch with an awesome outdoor bed and lounge chairs. And just off the porch there were hammocks and chaise lounges. And then of course the beautiful beach was about 30 steps from our door. It was simply amazing. This was our home base. It's where we slept, ate most of our meals, had yoga class and met to drive to the beach for surfing lessons. Besides whole heartedly recommending the trip (which I absolutely do if you're in the market for something like that) I would also recommend the hotel on it's own. In fact, I would love to do my own trip back to Malpais and stay at this hotel. It was perfectly low key and so relaxing yet it had everything that you need. I had an outdoor massage while listening to the ocean waves. I drank a pina colada while reading in a hammock.

Please, let's all go there. And then never ever leave. Cool? So it's a plan then.

More soon...

No vacation is complete without a hammock. And this one was right outside my door.

But if I really wanted a quality nap, I hightailed to this outdoor bed. It was soft and I could hear the waves. If not for the bugs I would have just slept out there every night.

This is where I did yoga every morning. I could see the ocean. So awesome.

Cute little swimming pool that I made sure to visit every single day.

Where we ate our meals. A highlight was the fresh fruit smoothie every morning.
