I'm a big fan of spiced nuts (that's what she said?), pecans to be exact. And these are a cinch to make. Plus they make a great gift! Wrap 'em up nice and pair them with a pretty bowl from oh-I-don't-know-say-Anthropologie and you have yourself a lovely housewarming or hostess gift. And this recipe makes a nice big batch so you can gift some and save some for your own personal munching. Because I promise you, you'll want some.

1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon paprika
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
2 teaspoons salt
6 cups pecan halves
1/4 cup vegetable oil

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine the spices and salt in a small bowl. Toss the pecans and oil in a large bowl. Sprinkle the spice mixture over the nuts and mix well. Spread the nuts out in a single layer over 2 large baking sheets. Toast until the nuts are fragrant, about 10 minutes.  Cool the nuts to room temperature. Can be stored in an airtight container for a few days, but I kind of doubt they'll last that long.
