Living in New York City means access to some of the neatest little shops in the world. Purl and Purl Patchwork are two examples of this. One is a friendly yarn store while the other is a fabric store just a few doors down on adorable Sullivan Street in the heart of Soho. Both are a visual feast for the eyes and a crafter's dream. (Check out their project-based blog the purl bee, you'll be crying tears of jealousy over the gorgeous stuff). Now, I'm not exactly a devoted knitter (though I've tried!) nor a sewer (even though I am dying to be), but I'm still in awe of the colors, textures and overall preshiness of these places. I was in last weekend and picked up some discounted swatches. I'm not sure how I'll end up using them, so for now I'll just file them under inspiration.
