Trimming the pretend tree

I'll be spending the holidays in Atlanta so I will most likely not get a tree in NYC (unless I convince my BF that we should get a teensie, weensie baby of a tree). But if I did I would (obvie) trim with lots of hand crafted and antiquey treats. For starters, I love these handmade felt garlands. I first saw Sophie Cuvelier's super fun multi-colored felt garlands on Simple Lovely and I have been dreaming about them ever since. They are so simple and precious. I also found loads of other cute ones on Etsy. I think they would be great for a tree but also just strung about the apartment (or home if you are so lucky) in a fun and festive way. Perfect for Christmas or any other holiday, think of the color combos! I'd even love to keep them up year round hung in a doorway like those 70's beads that Greg Brady had in his room.

When I finally do learn to sew, creating my own version of these garlands will be at the top of my must sew list. Plus the look relatively easy to pull off, maybe even I wouldn't screw them up.
