Treasure Hunt: A Retro Bathing Suit

Guess what? While I was away in Vegas it seems that spring has sprung in New York City. The warm weather plus the heated pool in Vegas that I didn’t get to use got me thinking, I desperately need a new bathing suit. Mine is basically falling apart and is pretty indecent. So I’m channeling Marilyn Monroe and on the hunt for a cute retro one piece. I scoured the interwebs and here are my findings. I’m a curvier gal so I didn’t post anything that isn’t available in my size. Also because of said “curviness” I’m tempted to go for basic black (there’s no arguing with it’s ability to flatter) but a color or polka dot would be fun.

Treasure Hunt: Affordable Art

I haven’t really hung any pictures or art in our new place yet. It’s been 4 months. I feel sort of bad about this. I have things to hang but feel so very overwhelmed when I think about how to arrange them etc. I know I want to attempt a gallery wall, but where to begin? So, instead of trying to tackle the task of hanging art in the real world of my apartment, I will do what I normally do which is distract myself with other things. Hence this treasure hunt. I went searching for fun prints that were $25 or less. I found lots of great stuff and one of these days I will attack the whole empty-wall thing. But for now enjoy my findings, friends

Treasure Hunt: Weddings Shoes for my Bestie

My best pal of about 100 years, Marthie is getting married this October. So exciting! I’ve seen the dress (GORGIE), the design for the save the date (AMAZING PERFECTION) and the mood board for the big event (A DREAM). She’s totally on top of it (I know because I keep begging to help) but one thing she’s still in the market for is shoes. She wants a fun and sassy pop of one of the colors from here scheme which is greens/aquas/blues/etc. I happily jumped at the opportunity to do a treasure hunt here on Old Sweet Song to try and provide my assistance from afar. Treasure Hunt: Spring Flats

I’m in awe of gals in NYC who can walk around town in heels. They are my heroes. I am not one of them. I know, I’m lucky because I’m tall, I don’t need the extra height. But honestly, even if I was short, I still don’t think I could (or would) wear heels in this city for fear of my ankle twisting as I try to walk down the steps to the subway and thus plummeting to my death. I’ll bust out a heel to a wedding or maybe a nice dinner out on the town, but in general I’m a 97% flats girl. I love flats in fun colors, it’s such a swell way to jazz up an outfit. I’ve been living in boots this winter, but the arrival of Spring has me hankering for some festive and fun flats in an array of vivid colors. Imagine opening your closet and seeing all of these beauties lined up just so? What fun! I think we all deserve a new pair of flats (or seven) this spring.

Recently, I’ve been drinking tea a lot more. I’ve always been an iced tea kind of gal but hot tea was never really my thing.
