I thought last night’s Mad Men premiere was absolutely effing fantastic. I love that show and am so happy it’s finally back in my life. And the wardrobe stylists, make-up artists, set designers and art directors continue to provide me with lots and lots of eye candy. I’m jealous, that seems like a total dream job. Someone give them a raise! And what do you think of last night’s episode?

p.s. So delighted to see Joan Holloway again! I can’t wait until we learn more about what’s going on in her world.

Hooray! My two best friends from college are here in Atlanta for our annual ladies weekend. We’ve been doing a get together every year since graduation and I must say it is always one of the highlights of my year. There is nothing like old friends. We make cocktails and snacks and just sit around and talk for hours. We have to catch up on the past years events, of course. With my life in a somewhat topsy turvy phase, it’s a delight to see people from my past who have loved me for a long time. They keep me grounded and remind me how easy it is to be happy again.

P.S. I hope my pals and I take a picture exactly like this in 30 or 40 years.

Ireland or bust

Hello, loves. Greetings from Ireland! I needed some major love and hugs from my sis so the trip was kind of a no-brainer. My mom and nephew are here too so I’m with all my magnificent peeps. I continue to hope for good things in the future but damn if it isn’t hard sometimes. Life sucks every once and awhile. Luckily, I have lots of love all around me. I’m not sure how I would survive without all it.

Friends, I stayed up too late watching the end of Lost and the Jimmy Kimmel after show extravaganza. I let go of all of my disappointments leading up to the end and just let myself watch the finale with an open mind. I’m still figuring it all out though so I can’t share my opinion yet. Need time to process. Head has exploded.

I’ll be back tomorrow with regular posts. Until then, what did you think?

Nearing the end…

Wow. I can’t believe the last regular episode of Lost is on tonight. And it will all be over on Sunday after the 11 hour “series finale event,” which I’m assuming will include a huge clip show. I won’t spend too much time going into my thoughts (and gripes) about this season of Lost but I will say that overall I have been disappointed. Of course to be fair I’m still GLUED to the TV anytime it’s on and I wouldn’t miss it for anything in the world. But after all of the time and energy I’ve invested into this show that was once amazing, I do hold it to a very high standard. Maybe too high. Sometimes I watch the reruns that are on ABC late Saturday night and I miss the good old days with evil corporations. Oh well, I’ll always have the memories. And who knows, maybe the finale will surprise me.

Perhaps the memories can live on with this pretty sweet Threadless design of “108 objects from flight 815.”

Friends, I have some pretty big news. I have decided to leave my full time job (and regular paycheck – gasp) to jump back into the freelance world. Some may call it crazy but there comes a time when you just know it’s time to move on. My heart was telling me exactly that and I had to listen to it. It’ll be a big change and I’m a wee bit scared but mostly just excited for new the things that are on the horizon. This print from sweet dee seems pretty fitting right about now. Stay tuned. Vacation Time!

Guess what? I am currently en route to Las Vegas! That’s right, VEGASSSSS! (I love Swingers). Today is our 4 year anniversary (time flies) so we’re off for a long weekend in the city of sin (awk?) to celebrate. We’ll sleep in, eat well, drink well and even gamble a little. Can you imagine anything more fun? I’m feeling lucky so don’t be surprised if I hit the jackpot and come back a millionaire. Now that would be fun.

Let’s all shout hooray for Spring. We’re seeing inklings of warmer weather in NYC this week and I feel like a plant who was in dire need of some sunshine. I’m sure it’s just a teaser and it’ll get cold again (because it’s NYC and that’s how things are here) but for now, I’m as happy as a clam.

LA is fun, the sun is shinning and I feel like I’m playing hooky. We went to the famous Mel’s Drive In for milkshakes and burgers for lunch yesterday. I needed greasy diner food to stave of the hangover I was working with. We had a late night that involved seeing this crazy and hilarious heavy metal cover band, Steel Panther. They played Jump, Livin’ on a Prayer and many other faves. I did a lot of yelling/singing and pointing up in the air. Fun times all around.

Today is finally my shoot day. Yahoo. We’re having live raccoons and explosives on set. Awe. Some.
