Learning to Sew
Posted on | May 3, 2010 | 7 Comments
I have wanted to learn to sew for a long time. Oh the creative possibilities: pillows, curtains, bunting, tote bags and maybe even someday, clothes! I finally took an introductory class this weekend at make workshop. What fun it was! If you’re in the area (or even visiting NYC) and you have a penchant for craftiness, I highly recommend checking out their course offerings. There’s tons of fun options. Diana runs make and she is such a sweetie pie! The space is very cool too, it definitely makes you want to create things! And how cute are sewing machines all lined up?
And look at what I made! A pretty little wallet with (crooked) buttons and everything! So yeah, I’m pretty proud of myself. I don’t have a sewing machine at the moment but am going to borrow one from a friend at first. That way I can see if I am fully ready to invest in my own. Stay tuned….

Oh fun! Good luck learning Amy. And stick with it, it’s such a great skill to have! My aunt taught me about a year ago and I’ve got some great dresses now.
