Something I wrote

Posted on | February 24, 2010 | 8 Comments

Hi friends. My writing class ended last night. It flew by and was definitely a great first experience with writing. I’d recommend taking a class with Gotham if you’re in the NYC area. I’m thinking about taking another one soon. As promised, I’m going to share something I wrote with you. The assignment was pretty open; just write about one of your personality flaws. I chose to write mine in letter format. Can you guess the personality flaw? Some of you might relate. Enjoy!

Beautiful writing. I totally relate to this! All my aspirations unfulfilled!

Your letter spoke to me. I have similar “friends” I feel I’ve let down. They patiently wait for me to come and play. If only sleep weren’t necessary!
    Well done!

Sounds like a perfect opportunity to take pictures of all of these items. Although unused, they sound like they are in perfect order, and would make nice images of little “collections”.

Wow, sis! Beautiful and full of wonderful images I can easily imagine in your office. I really love this piece.

    Dear Amy,

I feel like you just walked inside my “home office cum craft room” and wrote a letter to all my unused potential crafts! Dear unused darkroom supply kit, uncarved linoleum blocks…Ah, we’ve got the goods, now we just need the self discipline and the time to craft our fingers off!

Well said! Good stuff as always.

    Amy,
This was wonderful. You captured the hope that comes with the acquisition of materials for a project and then the regret, perhaps even guilt, that comes with not completing, or even initiating the project. I am impressed with your writing skills and with the fact that you have so many ideas for projects. I will wait patiently to see the completed items. Keep writing though; it suits you.
